It is with great pleasure to invate you to the 1st Skiathos International football tournament. The Skiathos football tournament (5 a side) is being organized by the Skiathos Sports Events organization and DOLPHIN of SKIATHOS SA, with the full support of the Municipality of Skiathos island and the International Police Association (Hellenic Section) while it is under the auspices of the Greek Tourism Organization. It is a great honor to invite your football team to participate in the 2024 Skiathos tournament.

The Skiathos International Football Tournament will take place from Monday 20th of May (arrivals) until Friday, the 24th of May 2024 (departures) in one of the most beautiful Aegean islands.. 

Playing football in the island of Skiathos can be a unique and enjoyable experience. This Aegean paradise island has so much to offer even the most discerning visitor and is a great opportunity to combine holidays with a quality 5 a side football event. With excellent selection of hotels, close to the sports facilities, you and your team will spend 4 nights /5 days having an unforgettable time of your lives!

TOURNAMENT
You will play all of your matches in a carefully programmed timed period. Every team will have one day off, enabling them to enjoy some free time to explore this fantastic island, there are some specially selected excursions available on request. The tournament will take place on 4 outdoor pitches at the Skiathos Sports Complex. Teams will play five against five. 
The Tournament will be played over a three-day period. Your team will have to play the groups phase on Tuesday or Wednesday. All the matches will have a duration  of 15 minutes, without half time.
On Thursday are the knock out rounds and finals.

• The pitches are artificial grass (6th generation grass).
• The goals have the format of futsal/handball goals. 
• Ball Nº 4 will be used during the matches. 
• We request that only futsal boots or special astro turf football boots are used at all times.
• Shin guards are obligatory to avoid any serious injuries

There will be: 
• Men's tournament (open)
• Women's & Men's tournament (at least two women in each team)
• Men's 40+ tournament

Who can participate:
Police Officers, Fire fighters, Military personnel, Coast Guards, Custom Officers, Tax Officers, personnel of the Ministry of Interior, state, provincial or municipal employees, staff from the various ministries, EU Agencies, International Organizations and Special Invitations by the organization

No team... no problem! 
Just participate as supporter of your favourite team. Families, friends & colleagues are more than welcome to come and spectate and cheer on their team or just come for a holiday! Anyone wishing to bring along their immediate family, partners or friends can benefit from the same rates as the rest of the team, this also includes the airport transfers and any special discounts for the excursions that are planned. Please just let us know who you would like to bring and we will sort out the rest for you.

Extra day’s accommodation can also be booked before or after the event. 

If you register before 31.03.2024, you will get an additional 10% discount for your stayment.

Tourist tax is not included. Participants will have to pay this tax on arrival in the hotel 

In order for your team to participate, the whole of the package must be booked including the hotel accommodation and the airport/port transfers. 

Please fill in on the application form your 1st up to 5th choice. We will try to allocate your team to the hotel or apartment of your choice. If the hotel of your choice is not available then will advise you of the hotel that is available. We recommend that you make your reservation as quickly as possible to ensure that you are not disappointed.

Reservations
If your team wishes to take part in the S.I.F.T. (Skiathos International Football Tournament), your application form and all payments must be in by the 20th of April 2024. Transport 
The return Airport/port transfer to and from your accommodation is avaliable at a special price. This includes any teams or families booking extra days. 
The costs for the flights may be cheaper if you book some days prior to or after the selected tournament dates. 

Visa
If you need a visa to enter Greece, make sure that the organization of the S.I.F.T. has a list with all your delegation members by the 1st of  May 2024. The list should contain all the delegation members, family names, surnames, date of birth, passport numbers, date of issue and expiry date of the passports!! The visa procedures at the Greek embassies are very strict!! Be on time with your visa application! We will not be held responsible for any team application if they are not processed in time due to late entry.
